Dr. Wang joined Cardiology Consultants of Texas in 2012. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular CT. He has special interests in prevention, early detection and medical management of coronary artery disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease, pulmonary hypertensions and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Wang holds the prestigious designation of Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.
Dr. Wang has the high distinction of obtaining the designation of Specialist in Clinical Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension (ASH). This designation of Hypertension Specialist is held by fewer than 1,500 physicians in the country. The Hypertension Specialist has expert skills and knowledge in the management of clinical hypertension and related disorders. As a Hypertension Specialist, Dr. Wang has a proven track record of controlling blood pressure in "resistant hypertensive" patients. Controlling your blood pressure is very important in preventing strokes, heart attacks, heart failure, and renal disease.
He received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University in China and a Master of Science degree from Medical Center of Fudan University in Shanghai. He then received a Ph.D. from Medical University of Ohio and served his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Toledo Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at University of Texas Medical Branch, DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center in Houston and served as Chief Cardiology Fellow at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is an active member of American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and American Medical Association.
