Cardiology Consultants of Texas has again successfully been recognized as an accredited practice by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL). Accreditation by the ICANL means that Cardiology Consultants of Texas has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The ICANL grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review. The Dallas Morning News ran a story on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 about Dr. Jerrold Grodin, a cardiologist at Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital who voluntarily joined the U.S. Army Reserves following the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01 in order to serve the men and women on active duty who protect our country.

Dr. Jerrold Grodin was commissioned as a Major in the Medical Corp in December 2001 and has since served on active duty three times: twice in Iraq and once in Germany. He explained his patriotism and desire to serve our Nation and how the decision to serve was molded by his commitment to his children (one of which was in New York blocks from the World Trade Center); his family’s legacy (as they immigrated to the United States following the Holocaust) and his sincere admiration for the armed services.
